UV-C Disinfection is Not New

It’s important to note these products contain germicidal UV, which can be harmful to humans if used incorrectly, UV-C radiation can penetrate the skin and eyes.

In 1903 Nobel Prize in Medicine was awarded to Niels Finsen for using UV light to fight the spread of tuberculosis.

After confirming UV lighting’s ability to kill pathogens, the next step was to find a way to replicate the UV wavelengths that would result in the disinfection of surfaces, air, and water. The first UV quartz lamp was wavelengths of ultraviolet light (UV-C; 100nm to 280nm) that have disinfection properties.

UV-C light inactivates airborne pathogens and microorganisms like mold, bacteria, and viruses. The technology is also referred to as UV Germicidal Irradiation or UVGI.

Why choose UV-C Solutions co

Used correctly, UVC can be a highly effective preventative measure, but the right training and knowledge are vital. In the current market, there are some major considerations to take into account when it comes to integrating UVC into commercial fit-outs and relying on it for widespread sanitation.
Ultraviolet radiation inactivates viruses by breaking down their DNA and killing the cells, stopping them from replicating.
This technology has been used for decades to disinfect water, air, and contaminated surfaces in specific settings, such as hospital operating rooms and water treatment plants.

WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER

My 45 years of experience as an epidemiologist has left me aghast at the widespread failure to properly sterilize indoor spaces. Well-meaning business owners who want to protect staff and customers are repeatedly failed by companies that send out representatives who have no formal education or training in the proper protocols. This is unacceptable. We need to fight this pandemic with appropriate planning and actionable steps towards prevention and safety……  Read All
